5 Easy Recipes for a Delicious 4th of July

July 4, 2012

Happy 4th of July!!! I’m heading upstate for a bbq and fireworks with my boyfriends family. Someone mentioned hamburgers and hot dogs and the foodie in me SCREAMED no! I mean it’s 2012, we’re older now, our palettes are more sophisticated. We can do better than that, right? Right! In an effort to Fancy this 4th of July up, I set out to find some of the most delicious recipes from bloggers I follow. So if you’re interested in adding a bit of flair to your 4th, try these 5 recipes and I guarantee you they will be asking for more! Bon appetit!

Strawberry Mango Basil Salsa
It’s always nice to have something tasty to snack on while all the food on the grill is being prepared. How can you go wrong with fresh salsa? Strawberries, Mango and Basil…oh my!

Crispy Soft Shell Crab Sandwiches with Avocado, Tomato, and Tarragon

I had to include the Soft Shell Crab Sandwich. One of my fave lunch spots makes these, but they’re always sold out by the time I arrive. Sadness!

Jamaican Street Corn

Soooo…I had this the other day and I literally lost my mind. The faux Jamaican in me got excited and started dutty wining! Grilled corn coated with ginger, curry and fresh coconut? Nuff said!

Watermelon Mint Lemonade

Look, if you’ve never had Watermelon Mint Lemonade, I implore you to get some ASAPtually! This refreshing drink will change your life.

Stars & Stripes Cheesecake Shots

You can NEVER go wrong with cheesecake. And these Stars and Stripes Cheesecake shots are festive and fantastic! Plus they’re pint sized like me and we all know that “good things come in small packages.

Okay, I was supposed to send this post this morning but the BF dragged me to the grocery store and I inadvertently ended up at an AMAZING thrift store…so I’m a bit behind! I am currently at said BBQ previously mentioned and my Honey says I’m being anti-social. I politely told him that this is a 4th of July post and the day is almost over and it’s all his fault. I still love him though.

Okay lovelies! Enjoy the rest of your holiday. And be sure to rock out to my Independence Day theme song, American Woman by Lenny Kravitz. Smooches!
